Thanksgiving and such

Today I am thankful for the family I was born into, the family I married into, the family I created and my family of friends.

We had a great Thanksgiving today! I made a ton of new recipes so I was happy they turned out good! Really good in fact! I did make a turkey. I got one free last year from work so it was in the freezer and all. K.C. said it tasted good so I guess that's good, since he's going to be eating on it for the next week or so!

The girls and I spent the day in our pajamas and Syd and I got a nap it. It was nice! Until Quinn came in and told me that she thought I had enough sleep and that I should get up and watch her do her puzzle. I guess a couple of hours is better than nothing, right?!

In other news, Syd has developed a new trick. She throws a blanket over her head and goes into the kitchen to sneak food. It's really funny to watch! And yes, I do have it on video!

I called my doctors office to find out why they canceled my pelvic scan. It was done in error so they are supposed to reissue the order. I decided to go ahead with it just in case.

We are switching over to Costco's insurance next year (we'll save $300 or so per month!) so I will go see the naturapathic doctor then since that insurance covers it.

Until then, I'll just deal! I got some of the ribose to see if that will help me get some energy, but, so far, I just get a headache! I'll try it for another day or so I think just to say I tried.

I've had a sore throat the last couple of days and this morning woke up with a nice dry cough. I think I'm trying to fight off some crap so that may explain the lack of energy!

Work wise, there are too many of us in the vault so Sunday will be my last day in there:( But, I'll go back in in January to finish training and then cover a maternity leave in April or May. It may still work out for me to stay off the front end for the rest of the year since I think photo wants to use me for the season! At least I hope! And actually, I've requested to have earlier shifts in the evening and since I have seniority now, I should get them! So, I think it will all be okay.

Guess that's about it for now. Hope you all had a fabulous day too and have tons to be thankful for!

Even More Annoyed!

I'm even more annoyed today, for several reasons.

First: I'm an idiot! My period isn't late at all. I was just looking a week ahead I guess. I have it marked right, I guess it just got lost in translation. Pain aside, that would be great news. Except....

Second: I started my period almost a full week early! WTF?! So, this means I have to reschedule my ultra sounds - just like I thought. And that leads me to.....

Third: I called to reschedule my ultra sound appointment only to find out that my doctor's office has CANCELED the appointment all together! How pissed I would have been if I showed up tomorrow only to find out I didn't have an appointment. The best we can come up with is the dr office thought it was a duplicate order since I just had a scan in Sept. Even though it should've said 'follow up' on the appointment. So, of course, the imaging department couldn't reschedule me without the doctor's orders, which I would have to call and get. No thanks! I'm done! I'm not happy with how the whole thing went! I told them my endometriosis is advanced, I've had 2 laporoscopies for it for crying out loud, they have copies of my medical records and the best they could come up with is, in my opinion, a misread ultra sound? I still have pain in my right side, apparently the dr never questioned the cyst on the left side as opposed to the right - where she actually FELT something (not that you could probably feel a cyst - which makes it worse because what IS she feeling?)! So $400 later, some stupid otc iron pills and I still don't have any answers! I'm supposed to do follow up blood work, a follow up ultra sound (we know how THAT turned out) and call if my bleeding is still heavy. Well of course it's still heavy! It's been heavy and keeps getting heavier, which, coupled with the increasing pain, is the whole damn reason I went it! Come on people!!!

I just spent the morning researching my options only to discover, by Western medicine anyway, I'm screwed! I can go on birth control (which I don't want to do, not sure really WHY I don't want to, just FEEL that I shouldn't - maybe because it isn't 'treating' it's just 'managing' the problem), or I can get a hysterectomy, which would obviously throw me into early menopause and I would have to take all kinds of artificial crap to deal with that. And even then, there is a chance that the endomitriosis can grow back, causing me pain all over again! Not to mention the cost for that surgery plus the recovery time (6-8 weeks!). No thank you!

So, I mentioned a homeopathic doctor in my last post. Again, I'm an idiot! She is a naturopathic physician. I'm going to give her a call and see where that gets me!

My main concern is preserving the organs that it has attached itself to and binded with other organs. I know for sure from my previous procedures and from what I can feel that my intestines are affected. I'd have to read the reports again but I know other organs have been moved around too. I'm almost certain that this whole mess is the reason I don't have any energy.

On the flip side, I know that I am extremely lucky to have gotten the two healthy babies I got! Most people with endometriosis can't have kids!

Speaking of which, Quinn is sleeping like crazy! She hasn't been to school in almost a week. She feels fine, just tired she says. Her cough is almost gone and her ears aren't bothering her. She just likes to sleep! Plus she's real cranky and whiny when she wakes up. I think she's having bad dreams too, so she isn't sleeping well. Poor thing!

Syd has a mild case of the sniffles and a major case of diahria, which also includes a nasty rash on her bottom. She's still as onery as ever so it's not slowing her down! She seems to be taking some longer naps so I'm sure their little bodies are just fighting off whatever sick bugs are in the air.

There, I'm not quite so annoyed anymore!

Annoyed!

I'm so annoyed today. Most all of it is due to the fact that I, again, am late starting my period. Like the last time this happened, I have a doctor appointment scheduled for Friday, which means I will probably start my period on Thursday! Ugh!

The appointment is a follow up ultra sound, which wouldn't be that big of a deal except for they are doing the vaginal probe thing again too. Yep.

I won't even go into the fantastic feeling my body goes through. Now even longer due to the late start. SO annoyed!

I think I'm going to go see a homeopathic doctor that a few of my friends go to and really like. That is my very last attempt to try and get a handle on this crap naturally. Next step after that is birth control and, if that doesn't work, a hysterectomy! I'm so over feeling like this!!!

Sick Bugs

Well, I was hoping to keep the sick bugs away from us with our new green smoothie habit, but, a few got through:(

Quinn has had sniffles on and off for the last week and it looked like we were stopping those sick bugs in their tracks! But, the last couple of days, she has developed a cough and has complained of her ears hurting. Cue the call to doctor! I really wanted to give her homeopathic remedies, but think she was too far into it to give her the immediate relief she was begging for - my poor baby:( She just couldn't get to sleep Thursday night so I finally went to Safeway around 2 in the morning (after she said "Mom, I just want to go to sleep")to get her some Robitussin. It took awhile to take effect and then once she got to sleep, she kept having bad dreams. :(

So, I took her in to get her checked out yesterday and sure enough, she has a double ear infection. So, we are on a full prescription and otc medicine regiment: Motrin, Robitussin, ear drops and Amoxicillin. And plenty of green smoothies, of course!

I need to get a list together of homeopathy meds to dole out - especially since Syd is starting to sneeze and cough now!
